Before and After - Mudroom Makeover

McGuire + Co. Kitchen & Bath

last modified: 3 months ago

This mudroom is part of a multi-room makeover, which included a kitchen, mudroom and two bathrooms. The mudroom was previously an open space, which served as a hangout for the family dog. The new space is now beautifully functional with plenty of storage for the family, while still allowing plenty of room for the fur baby to have a new dog bed!

The cabinetry is a gray-green, which carries over from the kitchen island color. The flooring was updated from an old peach square tile to a gorgeous 12x24" deep charcoal gray tile.

Let us know what you think.

Looks great and way more useful.
Did you completely get rid of the air/ heat venting?

@mmc429 Thanks for asking! There is actually a heating vent in the base cabinetry, below the storage drawer, but our photographer edited it out of a couple of photos. I should have used the ones showing the vent, as shown below. I believe there is also heat below the bench on the left side.

That's what was the front porch. Very odd place for mud room. Resale won't go well with that arrangement.

@HU-787167202 - This is not coming in from the front porch. This is the area between the home and the garage (breezeway), which is exactly where a mudroom would be. Resale value has definitely increased.

Who doesn’t love a functional breezeway! A very useful key area for a growing family. Well done and beautifully done!

Thanks so much @njmomma! We're so happy with the beauty & function of the new space! It no longer has to be hidden behind closed doors. It's now open to the kitchen, so the family pet can keep an eye on everything :)
