Tile backsplash match dark countertop

We just had a granite countertop installed (Via Lattea) but one slab only had enough to cover the counter and not backsplash. We could not fit another slab into the budget.The kitchen is L shaped. Was thinking a white subway tile on the range side and a black subway tile on the sink side. Would this look too mismatched? Should we go with all white subway tile?The cabinets we plan to paint turquoise.Photos: https://imgur.com/a/IDDDo9Z

It might have looked okay if you had been able to use the Via Lattea just on the small splash behind the sink up to the bar. But I am not loving the idea of the black tile there and then white tile on the rest. I love that stone though because it mimicks soapstone.

I would have the cabinets painted first and then choose the backsplash. I love the turquoise!

Provide some inspiration pic. warm wood floor black counters and turquoise … not feelin it…sage green will handle black counter and play off the good lookin floor which is the best thing going. then simple backsplash.

Thank you! I haven't found too many inspiration photos where the sink backsplash is different from the countertop material, but will prob go with one tile color all around the L. We did stop by the tile store and found a black polished porcelain tile that might work with what we have.

I'm digging the thought of sage green cabinets and will throw that into the mix.

We went with Via Lattea also because of the "soapstone"-esque look, however we went with polished for ease of maintenance.

there is a green for each individual preference. since painting the cabs is a given..I'd find the right shade to go for a long time and not have to worry. If considering stronger color or an eclectic mix.....you could use the backsplash for that...

as in this splash ....colors for retro? [could you lean into? can be fun...] .....otherwise note patterned? vs plain white? w green cabs..... go visit tile store a few times.

Oh your new counters are the BOMB. I love love love them. Gorgeous.

Keep the backsplash tile the same, if you do black and white it will take away from those gorgeous counters.

What about green tile backsplash. that is if you don't paint the cabinets. I kinda like them as is.

I agree, keep same tile color throughout. I have turquoise cabinets with white geometric backsplash and darker grout, white counters. Found a couple pics of your combo with either white or black backsplash. Good luck with your project 😊.
