Hi all!

Way back when, when my husband and I finally decided to tackle the LAST room of our 1979 home, y'all guided me through my remodel.

I wanted to get rid of the brick and get rid of all the dark oak. I also really wanted a small window on either side of the fireplace. My husband said - no go. He didn't want to hassle with taking out all the brick so the plan was to remove the brick/oak shelves on either side and paint the remaining brick white.

Lo and behold - as the deconstruction began, my husband learned the fireplace wall was ROTTING - and the only thing holding the wall up, was the brick fireplace. We had to hire the professionals to come in and build a new wall.

I got my wish. No more brick and a fabulous window on either side of the fireplace!
