do white wood blinds go with windows that are dark wood with dark wood trim?

The photo I've attached is the best photo I could get given the glare from the sunlight...you may have to use your imagination! The window in the photo is what I have throughout the house, but the window in the photo is not the actual window in question. In the master bedroom, we need to replace the honeycomb shades currently in place due to wear and tear and I'm considering white wood blinds. Based on cost, honeycomb and woodblinds were similar when I looked at smith & noble. Dark wood blinds would make the bedroom way too, well, dark. One other factor for us is that we are going to start replacing windows in a year or two and we will start with the windows in the master. Not sure yet if I want to keep the dark wood windows/trim...I hated it when we moved in, but it's grown on me. When I look at photos online and on this website, I don't see any photos of white blinds paired with dark trim/windows...hence the post.

I like it the other way around (natural wood or woven shades with white moldings) , but it does seem off to have the white wood blinds with the dark trim. I looked too and couldn't find any examples - maybe that's a sign??
Could you do a light roman shade instead? I think the fabric may work better.

sam0705 I think it is a sign, you're right! the honeycomb blinds that are there now look great...so maybe i'll just go with those again. They are not bright white, but a soft very light cream color and I've lived with it for 10 years never thinking it needed changing, so maybe I'll stick with that. I've actually made a ton of lined, roman shades but I don't think I have it in me right now to make 3 more...and I don't have the budget to pay that much for someone else to make them (especially since I know I can do it and do it well!). Working with the darker trims and moldings has been a challenge but we're slowly figuring it out. Thanks for your advice!

I have had the same dilemma. I love the dark trim and dark doors but feel like white blinds or shades will be too stark against it. I have decided (I think) to go with a cream or sand colored wooden blinds in most of my house and roman shades in a similar color in the bedroom just to soften the room. Good luck and post pictures!

I think bamboo shades which seem to come in many variations may be a cheaper option for a window treatment you are only hanging onto for two years. Window replacement is going to jettison all current window treatments I assume?

I know this is way after the fact but just seeing this. I am considering white wood blinds with my dark trimmed windows. Hardly any pictures inline but found one I liked. Please post pictures of what you decided on.

@HU-663543959, that does look nice. Thank you for posting. Went with the white and changed all of our first floor. Love it. On left is one window in the liv rm. On the right is a window in the dining room.

That looks great. ;) I have a similar problem and it is nice to see that it works! If I matched the blinds to the wood in my home, it would be too dark. Thank you for sharing your pictures!
